This year’s Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii Junior Young Buddhist Association (Jr. YBA) Federation State Convention was held on June 26-28 at the Kapaa Hongwanji on the island of Kauai.  During the convention, a special 750th Shinran Shonin Memorial service was conducted where the one hundred ten delegates joined in the chanting of the Shoshinge and sang Hawaii’s 750th Shinran Shonin Memorial theme song, May Peace Prevail.  The convention focused on ecology and participants made terrarium pots using recycled plastic bottles, and made pressed flower postcards using flowers growing on Kauai.  The postcards will be on sale at the Annon Café during Hawaii’s Double Commemoration in September.
