Kyoto, Japan- As part of the 750th Memorial for Shinran Shonin commemoration activities, the Commemoration Events Department has announced the start of a new letter-writing project entitled “Tegami- a message to Shinran Shonin.” In reflecting on Shinran Shonin’s wish for a world of peace and tranquility, everyone is invited to submit letters written in Japanese containing their thoughts and concerns on given themes. All letters will be on display at Hongwanji during the duration of the 750th Memorial for Shinran Shonin observance April 9, 2011 – January 16, 2012.
