New Buddhist altar installed at Correctional Center
Shimane, Japan - On February 20, a Buddhist altar was presented to Private Finance Initiative (PFI) Rehabilitation and Correctional Center in Hamada, Shimane prefecture. An installation service was conducted by the chaplains and volunteer counselors from the community and other staff from the facility. An official message from Hongwanji Governor General Kosho Fujikawa was read during the service. There are currently three Hongwanji-affiliated ministers from the community serving as chaplains at the Center.
