The donation of a new decorative curtain
Hongwanji- In commemoration of the completion of the Goeido restoration, Mr.
Toshiyuki Higaki, a member of Jokoji Temple in Imabari, Ehime, donated a beautiful,
Kyoto Yuzen-dyed curtain to the Hongwanji. The curtain, which was made
of special dyed silk is 3 meters long and extends along three sides of the Goeido,
which is approximately 120 meters. On the silk are designs of kalavinka birds
and devas (celestial beings), with the border on the bottom of the curtain being
beautifully decorated with gold foil accents.
