Fukuoka, Japan- 31-year-old Nepal Pop singer, Raju Lama performed at a charity concert sponsored by the Green Life Insitution at the Jounji temple in Fukuoka.  His encounter with the Jodo Shinshu teaching began when he heard a Dharma talk that was given by Rev. Sonam Bhutia of Kathmandu Hongwanji (formerly the Green Life Institution) back in 1998.  Through his introduction to Jodo Shinshu, Lama grew an appreciation for the teaching and became proud of his Buddhist heritage.  Since then, he continues to take active part in supporting the Kathmandu Hongwanji through his music, participating in various social welfare activities, as well as serving on the temple board.
