Nepal- In supporting the education program developed at the Kathmandu Hongwanji, Shozenji temple of Hiroshima district recently sponsored two members, Sushmita Lama and Nanimaya Younzan, from Kathmandu Hongwanji in a one-year homestay program in Japan.  During their stay, they experienced a wide variety of activities at Shozenji temple observing services at the temple, Fujinkai activities and volunteering at the temple’s kindergarten.  Through this experience, it is hoped that they will take on important roles at the temple.  Rev. Fujii stated that Buddhists around the world make pilgrimages to Nepal where Shakyamuni Buddha was born and so it is significant to have a Hongwanji temple there.
