Annual observance of Hoonko returns to the Goeido
Japan- Following the 10-year restoration work on the Goeido (Founder’s Hall), the annual observance of Hoonko, commemorating the passing of Shinran Shonin, founder of the Jodo Shinshu teaching, was conducted January 9 – 16 in the newly-restored Goeido. The Shuso sango saho (service style) which was composed specially for the upcoming 750th Memorial for Shinran Shonin was conducted during the observance to familiarize members of the new style.
