The South America Hongwanji Mission, COMUNIDADE BUDISTA SUL-AMERICANA “JODO SHINSHU HONPA HONGWANJI”, which was officially recognized by the Brazilian government in 1955, is the youngest district within the overseas temple districts. The Betsuin, located in Sao Paulo today, oversees 35 temples, 17 ministers, 17 assistant ministers and approximately 10,000 members as well as many others who show interest in Jodo Shinshu.
