In 1905, the first service was conducted at the Vancouver City Hall at which over 500 were in attendance, marking the beginning of The Buddhist Churches of Canada. The Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Temples of Canada presently consists of 20 temples, a fellowship, and the Living Dharma Centre which are located within five provinces in Canada.
